Music in the last days of June goes out into the street and even falls down to the subway: various events will take place in honor of the 120th anniversary of Novosibirsk, which is traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of June. You can enjoy the sound at the exhibitions of Japanese artists, of photographers of Novosibirsk or at the night showing of movies by Aleksey Balabanov.

“The Romance of Novonikolaevsk” in the Philharmonic Society
On Thursday in honor of the 120th anniversary of Novosibirsk the Philharmonic Society will present the premier of a musical-literary composition “The Romance of Novonikolaevsk”. It will be performed by Russian Academic Orchestra, and the composition was made based upon the work “A School-girl and a horse-thief” of the writer Michael Schukin of Novosibirsk. The music was composed by Sergey Kravtsov.
Literally the authors of the project will take us in the time machine back to 100 years ago and tell a love story of a horse-thief and a school-girl, which unfolds in Novonikolaevsk in 1913. Serious passion boiled in the street of Kainsk.
The second part of the concert is a festive program. People in Novosibirsk will listen to songs on their own city and even music gift from a Japanese composer Satoko Ishize, who wrote the piece “Ancient TImes” specifically for the anniversary of Novosibirsk.
The concert will start at 19:00 in the Chamber Hall.
