Composer Satoko Ishize plans to renew her cooperation with Russia after a few years of interval. She told about it to m24.ru.
According to her, she is now considering various ways of work with a number of Moscow concert halls and also with Novosibirsk Philharmonic Society.
“Unfortunately, the relationship between Japan and Russia is, for the moment, not at its highest level, but this is related to politics. On the other hand, culture has even at the most complicated periods, always served as a bridge, connecting our countries.” pointed out the composer.
In 2013 a performance of her composition “Ancient Times” enjoyed a sold-out in Novosibirsk.
Satoko Ishize comes from a family of Shinto priests and samurai. She says that music intrigued her from the very childhood. “I participated in Shinto rituals, listened to religious melodies, and, while being away from them, tried to create something on my own”, she says. Her latest single titled “Anthem” was released in January 2016.
In the composer’s words, she loves to create anthems. “Many people are surprised that my work covers such a specific music field,” told Ishize-san. “But I like it.”
Judging from reactions of listeners, she is not the only one who likes it. Her music was used for background, where public televised announcements of the United Nations are made. She is the one who wrote the music to the video message of the United Nations in regard to the selection of the new Secretary-General Ban Kimoon.
